Craig Guenther

October 20, 1971 — February 19, 2025

Craig Guenther, beloved son and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, with his mother and #1 fan, Jerilyn Guenther, by his side. Born on October 20, 1971 in Johnson City, New York, Craig was the cherished son of Jerilyn (Pedery) Guenther and the late Peter Guenther. A first born and only child for both Jerilyn and Peter, he was a constant source of happiness and pride for his parents.

Though Craig faced the physical challenges of cerebral palsy throughout his life, he never let those limitations define him. His world was filled with love, laughter, and the unwavering support of those around him, especially his mom. Craig's infectious spirit, sharp sense of humor, and remarkable ability to connect with people made him a cherished presence in every room. A true "ladies' man," Craig always knew how to light up a conversation with his charm, warmth, and wit.

A lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, Craig's loyalty to the team was unwavering. His room was a testament to his devotion, filled with memorabilia and mementos celebrating the Browns. Game days were special occasions for Craig, marked by excitement, passion, and a steadfast belief in his team, no matter the outcome.

Besides his undeniable charm and love for the Browns, Craig enjoyed music, holidays, and staying "in the know." Despite not living with his Mom for many years, he always asked what she was getting in the mail and if there was any mail for him.

Craig's heart was open to all, and his generosity of spirit touched everyone he met. He had a special connection with several housemates and staff of Cerebral Palsy of Westchester (CPW) in White Plains over the years, including John, Jose, Vanessa, Harold and Michael. Whether through his kind words, his laughter, or his thoughtful gestures, Craig's positivity and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know him. If Craig himself couldn't solve your issue through his kindness, he would put his Mom on teh case! Her services were freely offered over the years to many of Craig's friends and housemates at CPW. Craig relished in the care and love his Mom provided, and invited others to feel that along side him.

Craig's life is a powerful testament to resilience, love, and the joy that comes from being surrounded by people. Hi shumor, kindness, and unwavering optimism will be remembered with love and admiration by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his mother, Jerilyn Guenther of Southbury, CT and several cousins.
