Connie Mazza of Montauk and Glen Head, New York passed away on June 3 after declining health. She was a beloved wife of 49 years, mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin, known for her kindness, and classic beauty. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 27, 1934, she married Frank Mazza, a Reporter with the NY Daily News, for 35 years, and raised four children. Always a New Yorker, she moved from Middle Village, Queens, to Glen Head, New York to her dream home in Montauk, L.I. She lived most recently at The Bristal in White Plains, NY. She is survived by her four children, Dianne Mazza Schanne, Jacqueline Mazza, Tom Mazza and Carolyn Mazza Hall, her sons-in-law, Frank Schanne, Bryan Hall, and daughter-in-law, Janice Marinelli Mazza. She has nine wonderful grandchildren who brought her great joy, Elizabeth, Anna and Christina Schanne; Daniel Metherell; Genevieve, Michael and Thomas Mazza; and Connor and Julia Hall. She was the last surviving sister of five, born to Mary Smidowicz of Bolton, England and James Henry of Ireland.
Visitation will be Monday June 6, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Ballard- Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 AM Tuesday June 7, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 920 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.
