Concetta Cappa

Tuesday, March 25, 2025, we lost Mom at the age of 91. She was a compassionate and loving mother and wife who always put herself last when it came to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Mom and Dad lived a very happy and successful life after migrating from Italy. Mom arrived in the USA on February 25, 1954, and returned in September 1955 to marry her husband, Carmine. She was born in Barile, Italy, and grew up in that small town. Mom and Dad were proud Italian/Arbëreshë and even prouder to be American.

She worked at Honeywell, Providence Rest, and Miller Nursing Home. Through hard work, saving, and smart investments in real estate, they built a strong foundation owning a two-family house, a six-family house, and a mountain/summer hunting home in the Catskills. Mom and Dad truly lived the American Dream.

Mom met Dad when she was 14 and he was 18. Yes, she married the boy next door as they were childhood sweethearts and neighbors. They shared a beautiful long marriage for 67 years. Dad passed away two years ago, and now they are reunited.

She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson deeply. She treated her daughters-in-law and son-in-law as if they were her own children, showing love in countless ways.

Mom and Dad insisted that we all go to college, working tirelessly to save and pay for our education, including most of our postgraduate studies.

She adored her family and was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dr. John (Cettina) Cappa, Dr. Louis (Jill) Cappa, and Rosann (Massimo) Cremonini.

Her beloved grandchildren: Carmine and Nicholas Cappa, Camille Francese, Luke, Sophia, and Peter Cappa, Michelle, Frankie, and Lily Cremonini.

She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandson, Dominic Francese.
