Charles "Charlie" Herman Jr passed away suddenly at home on January 25, 2024.
Born in White Plains NY in June of 1948 to Lillian (McGowan) and Charles Herman Sr. Charlie worked for the US Postal Service in Scarborough NY, and upon his retirement he began a second career as a bus driver for Briarcliff Bus Company. He loved his second career, and stole the hearts of the children he drove (and their parents too)! He loved sharing the stories of the kids and the wacky and sweet things they would do and say on the bus.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife and traveling partner of 36 years, Kathy (Fitzmaurice) Herman. He is predeceased by his parents, and brothers Cliff and Robert. He is also survived by his loving sister Edie Benson of Mississippi, and his many nieces and nephews who adored him, Donna Rich, Rebecca (Rich) Seger, and Jason, Michael, Brian and Kathryn Smith, as well as many loving great nieces and nephews.
The thing everyone knows about Charlie is that he was a good man. He was a good husband, brother, son, uncle, and friend to many. Charlie cared deeply for many causes. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a cause that means something to you, or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, one that he particular wanted to help.
