Charles H. Gruetzner, Jr. 82, of White Plains, N.Y. and formerly of Bronx, N.Y. Died on March 12, 2007 at NYS Veterans Home in Montrose, NY He was born on Sept.1, 1924 to Charles and Alice Gruetzner in NYC. He served in the US Coast Guard and Navy during WWII. Charles was a Retired NYPD Detective in the 41 Precinct from 1949-1969. He is survived by 2 sons Charles Gruetzner and his wife Linda of Carmel, N.Y. and Edward Gruetzner and his wife Michele of Thornwood, N.Y. 1 daughter Maryann Gherardi and her husband John of Tarrytown, N.Y. 1 sister Alice Jenkins of Houston, TX also survived by 6 grandchildren Christian, Jeffrey, Lauren, Jessica Gherardi, Amanda and Kevin Gruetzner. And 2 great grandsons Charles and Ryan Gruetzner. Predeceased by 1 granddaughter Nicole Gruetzner. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday (today) 2-4 and 7-9 PM. where funeral services will be held on Thursday 10 AM. Interment Mt.Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to NYS Veterans Home, 2090 Albany Post Road, Montrose, NY 10548 would be appreciated.
