Charles G. (Buddy) Bebenroth, 79, died on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at home with his daughter. Born November 10, 1927 he was raised in Manhattan, moved to Queens, then on to White Plains to be near his 2 grandsons, daughter and son-in-law with whom he most recently resided. He was predeceased by his wife of forty-nine years Mary F. Bebenroth, whom he married on July 28, 1950.
Charles served his country during World War II as a U.S. Army medic aboard the U.S.S. Mercy. Former member of American Legion Post #868, NYC and St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Catherine of Siena Church, NYC. Volunteered over 400 hours at James Ewing Memorial Hospital at Sloan Kettering serving as escort for Sunday services and as a platelet donor.
Charles is survived by his daughter Donna Marie Louis and son-in-law Paxton J. Louis, 2 grandsons Eric Zhao and Scott Tung Louis, and one brother - Joseph Bebenroth of California. He was predeceased by his daughter Carol Ann Bebenroth in 1971 and four siblings John Bebenroth, Florence Wade, Irene Bates, and Elizabeth Powles. Charles was a devoted husband, loving father and cherished grandfather. His never ending sense of humor will be missed by all.
Interment at Pinelawn National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
