Carrie Angela Young passed away unexpectedly January 2024 at the age of 42. A resident of White Plains, NY, she was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 22, 1981 into a loving family, with parents George B. Young Jr. and Lucy P. Young. She was the youngest of 3 siblings, with elder sister Janice M. Young, and brother John B. Young. She was raised overseas, experiencing island life and primary school in Colombo, Sri Lanka, followed by high school in Cottonwood (Arizona) and later graduation after moving to South America- from the American School of Lima, Peru.
She graduated from SUNY Purchase with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking, after attending semesters at Arizona State University, San Jose Community College and Westchester Community College.
Carrie worked in education with special-needs children at the Lois Bronz Children’s Center before her passing. She brought light and a spark to those that met her, with a beautiful eye for art, vintage items, and offbeat fashion. She was passionate and loved her family, along with animals, travel, cooking, crafts, and always strived for artistic perfection. She is very loved by her family, and will be dearly missed as she finds eternal rest from this world.
Carrie is survived by her parents George and Lucy Young, siblings Janice Young (Joshua Salit), John Young (Thu Thach) and nephew Hunter Young, with half-siblings Susan Meaney (Doug), and George F. Young. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, George B. Young Sr., Chonita (Toni) Young, Stephen Yeh, and Dorothy Yeh.
