Carolyn A. Rutigliano

Carolyn A. Rutigliano (nee DeUlio) 79, formally of Hawthorne, NY most recently of Scotia, NY entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2016. She was born in Staten Island, New York on November 23, 1936, the daughter of Savario and Santina DeUlio. Carolyn was graduate of the Fashion Institute for Technology (CUNY) with a degree in Fashion Design. She worked in the Garment Center in New York City where she met her husband Jerry Rutigliano. Carolyn also worked for the Hawthorne Answering Service, Telstar Alarm Company in Pleasantville, NY , Ciba Geigy Corporation in Dobbs Ferry, NY and retired from Ciba Specialty Chemicals twelve years ago. She was a communicant of St. Madeleine Sophie Parish in Guilderland, New York and also attended Holy Rosary Parish Hawthorne, New York and St. Frances of Rome Bronx, New York. She was president of the Daughters of St. Frances of Rome and also was a Girl Scout leader for many years at St. Frances of Rome Parish serving as a leader for both the Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts. Carolyn was a catechist at Holy Rosary Parish in Hawthorne and a Faith Formation volunteer at St. Madeleine Sophie Parish. She was predeceased by her parents, Safari and Santana DeUlio, her sister Michilia (Mickey) Abate, her husband Jerry Rutigliano , sister-laws Lena Languilli, Mary Leonetti, Louise LaVolpe, and brother in laws, John Leonetti and Tony LaVolpe. Carolyn is survived by her daughters Anna M. Hartz of Scotia , NY and Colette (Gary) West of Somers, NY, grandchildren Maria C. Hartz, Aneta West, Arpod West, Mitko West, Lily West and sister-law Coletta Rutigliano as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-7 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY on Monday 10AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne , NY to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to Rosary Hill Home, Hawthorne, NY or St. Madeleine Sophie School, Schenectady, NY in her name would be appreciated.
