Carol Brown Laufer, aged 69, passed away October 3 in White Plain Hospital, twelve days after an in-home accident. Carol was born October 1, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY, to parents Raymond and Elisabeth (Mason) Brown, who lived in Scarsdale. She graduated from Scarsdale High School in 1967 and graduated from William Smith College in Geneva, NY, in 1971. She was married to Richard Laufer in March, 1978. They have resided in Hartsdale since 1985. Carol was a producer of commercial and educational films before joining Blue Sky Studios as a producer and later as Executive Producer. In 2002 she and husband Richard bought the Bridge Deck on Central Avenue in Scarsdale, making a business of their passion for duplicate bridge. In 2013 they sold the Bridge Deck, and Carol had been retired from the work world since. In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by siblings Leslie Palmieri of Somers, Alison White of South Salem, David Brown of Middletown, CT, and Blakeley Crevoiserat of Glastonbury, CT, fifteen nieces and nephews and sixteen grand nieces and grand nephews. The family is having a private funeral on Sunday and planning a public memorial for late October, the details of which will be posted on the Ballard-Durand website.
