Carmen M. Rivera 87, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on Jan.7,2017. She was born on Dec.7,1929 to the late Antonio and Celia Alfalla in Rincon, Puerto Rico. She was a retired hairdresser in the Bronx. Carmen is survived by her devoted husband, Gilberto Rivera of Hawthorne, N.Y. and by her loving children, Linda (Steven) Panzer of Valhalla, N.Y. and John Badillo of Hawthorne, N.Y. one brother, John Alfalla of Fla. and four sisters, Lillian Chiesa of Garden City Park, N.Y., Doris Claar and Violet Alfalla both of Fla. and Anelly Alfalla of Puerto Rico. Also survived by her four cherished grandchildren, Steven, Lauren, Tara and Talia and one great grandson, Grayson. Predeceased by one brother, Tony Alfalla. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Thursday, 10 AM. Interment, Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
