Carmela Burra 83, of Valhalla, N.Y. died on Dec.10, 2014 at her residence. She was born on Feb.17, 1931 to the late Pietro and Gisella Covacci in Visinada, D'Istria, Italy.
She retired from Farrand Controls in Valhalla, N.Y. Carmela was an avid gardener, a great cook and loved her cats and especially her family. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, John Burra in 2006, one brother and one sister. Carmela is survived by her loving children, Luciano (Judy) Burra of Valhalla, N.Y., Giulio (Mary) Burra of
New Fairfield, Conn., Matteo (Grace) Burra of Brewster, N.Y. and Antonella Halpin and her late son in law Eugene of Valhalla, N.Y. also survived by her four brothers and one sister in Italy. Also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren, Jason, Jolie, Gisella,
Nicole, Stefanie, John, Kevin and Gabriella and four great grandchildren. No visiting hours. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Monday, 10 AM.
Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to any animal shelter of your choice would be appreciated.
