Caitlin Rose King 28, died on Oct.10, 2021, was born on May 21,1993 in Mt. Kisco NY to Patricia and Brendan King. A lifelong resident of Valhalla NY, Caitlin attended the Valhalla Schools from K-12. After graduating high school, Caitlin went onto Iona College where she earned her degree in Speech Language Pathology with honors. She continued her education at St. John’s University where she obtained a Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders. While attending St. John’s, she was a graduate assistant and active member in the Campus Ministry Office leading many faith and service programs in the local community. Caitlin also led a mission trip of undergraduate students to Lourdes, France participating in a variety of activities including volunteering in the piscines. After graduating St. John’s, Caitlin joined the NYC Public Schools System, where she served the students of P168X@P20 in the Bronx, NY as a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist. Caitlin was full of life. As an avid knitter, she loved to make scarves, hats and blankets for her friends and family. She liked to read, the Harry Potter series being among her favorites; cook, practice yoga, play tennis; and go on walks in her neighborhood. On Saturdays, she enjoyed going to the Pleasantville Farmers Market where she would buy pesto, bread, and various teas to share with everyone. At any time of day, you could find her speaking to any one of her many friends. She was committed to those close to her and loved to spend time with them.
Caitlin is survived by her heartbroken parents, Brendan and Patricia King and her loving brothers, Brian (Diana) King and Sean King, all of Valhalla, N.Y. Predeceased by her beloved brother, Timmy King in 2004. Also survived by her devoted fiancé, Tim Bannen of Queens, N.Y. and her two cherished uncles Michael (Josephine) King of New Fairfield, CT and Kevin (Christine) King of Flagler Beach, FL and seven cousins and four great cousins.
Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, Oct.15, 2021 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Saturday, Oct.16, 2021 at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y.
