Brenda Pachter Siegler, 82, passed away on September 14 after a short illness. Daughter of the late Regina and Meyer Pachter of Kansas City, she leaves behind her devoted husband, Richard Siegler of White Plains, NY, with whom she shared a 58-year happy marriage, as well as a daughter, Lauren Muhlheim; a son-in-law, Eric Muhlheim; and three grandchildren, Henry, Ezra, and Allison Muhlheim. She is also survived by her brother, Elliot Pachter, and sister, Maurine Pachter.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Brenda attended the University of Wisconsin (1963). Upon graduation, Brenda received a degree in Speech and Language Pathology. She worked as a speech therapist in schools and privately before leaving to focus on raising her daughter and contributing her organizational and leadership skills toward charitable organizations.
Brenda was active in the founding of the Pediatric Cancer Foundation (PCF, formerly the Maxwell Leeds Pediatric Tumor Foundation). She served as president of the PCF from 1980 to 1982 and helped found the Manhattan Chapter. She was a member of Metropolis Country Club and a former member of Ridgeway Country Club. Brenda was an avid golfer and won club tournaments at Ridgeway.
In recent years she divided her time between Beverly Hills and White Plains and was an enthusiastic bridge player. Brenda was devoted to her friends and family, including her mother, who lived until 2020. She remained connected to Kansas City.
Charitable contributions in her memory should be made to Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Funeral services are Monday, Sept 18 at 1 pm at Temple Kol Ami in White Plains.
