Bianca Moro Zuccari

Bianca Moro Zuccari of Briarcliff Manor, NY died peacefully after a brief illness on September 9, 2011. She was 87. Bianca was born in the Bronx, NY on February 17, 1924 to Josephine and Paul Moro. The family soon moved to Peekskill, NY where she grew up and graduated from Peekskill High School in 1942. She worked in the advertising industry until her marriage to Banca D'Italia executive Nello Zuccari in Rome, Italy in 1949 where she continued to live until returning to the United States in 1957. She and her family settled in Briarcliff Manor where she was a long time resident. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, especially summers on Cape Cod and excursions to Europe. She was a volunteer at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Sleepy Hollow for a number of years, an avid reader and gardener, as well as a fantastic mother. She also cherished her lunches with her high school friends a.k.a. "the girls". She was predeceased by her husband Nello in 1982, her sister Roma Hughes in 2000, her brothers Francis Moro in 2002 and Thomas Moro in 2011. She is survived by her three children Frank Zuccari of Chicago, Il., daughters Christina Zuccari and companion Richard Weimer of Darien, Ct., and Paula Zuccari-Corelli and her husband Dennis of Valhalla, NY and two grand daughters Isabella and Gianna Corelli. She is also survived by her sister in law Margaret Moro and nephew Robert Moro both of Ossining, NY as well as close cousins Frank and Alma of Old Greenwich, Ct. Special thanks to her primary care givers Claudia Correa and Sara Hartman who lovingly saw to her every need. Calling hours will be at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532 on Thursday, September 15th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Services at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor, NY. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Ossining Food Pantry.
