Betty Ann Doyle, age 93, of Forest Hills, New York passed away on April 6, 2023 at Calvary Hospital Bronx, New York.

Betty Ann was born on January 22, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to her parents Elizabeth H. Mulvihill nee Ford and Joseph A. Mulvihill.  She attended Resurrection Ascension Elementary School in Queens and St. Lawrence Academy High School, New York City with her two best friends Eileen O’Brien and Claire Caimano. She was married to her beloved husband

Dr. Thomas L. Doyle on November 7, 1953 at Resurrection Ascension Church, Queens, New York. Betty Ann grew up in Rego Park, New York then known as West Forest Hills. During her marriage she lived in Arlington, Virginia, Peter Cooper Village, New York and Forest Hills, New York from 1963 to 2018. She lived the remainder of her life at the Bristal Assisted Living facility of White Plains, New York.

Betty Ann graduated from Mt. St. Vincent College, Riverdale, New York where she earned a BS in Social Studies in 1951. She attained a Graduate Degree in Education from the State University in Farmingdale, NY. She taught Kindergarten at the Island Trees School, Levittown, NY. After Betty Ann raised her 3 children she was the office manager for husband Dr. Thomas L. Doyle’s Psychiatric practice in New York City and Forest Hills for 38 years welcoming the patients, planning appointments and communicating with the insurance companies.

She was a Parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, Forest Hills for over 50 years. Her 3 children graduated from the Queen of Martyrs school.  She was a 50 year member of the Women's Club of Forest Hills at the Community House. She and her husband were made members of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre Archdiocese of New York in 1967.

Betty Ann loved her husband Tom, her family, and her friends. She was an avid reader, usually completing one book per day. She was an enthusiastic sports fan starting with the Brooklyn Dodgers and then moving on to the Mets. She also loved to travel, going to Yulan, Cape Cod, Florida, California, Hawaii and Europe. Whenever she was with friends and family they loved to sing together. One of her favorite songs was "Here We Are Again”, which ends with the lyrics: “happy as can be, all good pals and jolly good company”.  We know that she is “ happy as can be” to be singing that song once again with everyone who was waiting for her in heaven.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. Thomas L. Doyle (2016), her parents Joseph and Betty Mulvihill, her brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Kathleen Mulvihill nee McCann, her brother and sister-in-law Peter and Patricia Mulvihill nee Bogad. She is survived by her 3 children, her son Thomas Doyle and his wife Denise Flood, her daughter Kathryn Chapar nee Doyle and her husband Dr. George Chapar, her son Christopher Doyle and his wife Lydie Kane. Her 9 Grandchildren, Nicholas Chapar and his girlfriend Savanna Cobb, Kristin Johnson nee Doyle and her husband Dillon Johnson, Molly Chapar and her fiance Mike O’Neill, Kelly Doyle, Peter Chapar and his wife Monika Chapar nee Walker, William Doyle, Megan Doyle, John Doyle, Grace Doyle and her 2 great-grandchildren Alina Chapar and James Chapar.

The Wake will take place at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home 2 Maple Ave, White Plains NY on Monday April 10th visitation 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Mass Tuesday April 11th at 10AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church 110-06 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills New York. Burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery 80-01 Metropolitan Ave, Queens, NY.
