Bernice Gussack of Rye Brook, 89 years old, and a long-time Westchester resident, passed away on December 30, 2022 at White Plains Hospital.
She was born in Buffalo, NY and raised with close family in Toronto Canada. Bernice got married in 1954 and moved back to the New York area to start a family.
Bernice received her undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology from Mercy College and then her Masters in Social Work from Fordham University. She worked in the healthcare industry for many years until finding her place at White Plains Hospital initially working as a social worker, she climbed her way up to Director of Social Services.
Bernice is survived by Eva Deibert-Gussack and her husband Richard, Paul Gussack, Philip Gussack and his wife Melissa Kamen, their son Nate Gussack and her sister-in-law Anita Shendalman. She is pre-deceased by her brother Lawrence Shendalman. Bernice always had a place in her heart for her furry grandchildren Roxie, Lila and Milo.
There will be a graveside service at Sharon Gardens Cemetery in Valhalla, NY on January 2, 2023 at 11:00AM.
