Barry Curtis passed away on July 20, 2012. He had been a resident of St. Patrick's Nursing Home since May, 2010. Mr. Curtis was born on March 17, 1914 in Tombstone, Arizona. He traveled the world starting at a very young age. His adventures in life yielded some colorful stories. He eventually settled in New York where he worked at various business interests until he started working in car sales in the late 1950's. While living in Yonkers, NY, he worked at Grant Motors and eventually became a partner in Central Avenue Chrysler Plymouth. He was quite active in local politics and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. In 1974 he moved to the White Plains, NY area. He enjoyed painting and reading and was particularly fond of opera, classical music and good wine. A lifelong interest was also held in the field of creative writing which he pursued in his later years with enthusiasm. He is survived by his step-daughters Sharon Weber and Catherine Lepone. He had two grandchildren, Ryan Curtis Lepone and Emily Lepone. Margaret, his wife and the love of his life, passed away in May, 2010.
