Austin Isherwood

Austin Isherwood, 87, passed away on June 13, 2024, in Jupiter, Florida, surrounded by family. Austin Isherwood was born on March 17, 1937 in Queens, NY, to Austin Isherwood and Alice Isherwood. He graduated from Flushing High School, attended Fordam University and joined the United States Army, all before joining the NYPD, where he stayed for 21 years. After retiring from the NYPD, he was involved in the purchase of multiple radio stations and real estate in both NY and Florida. He married Carol Campagna on November 28, 1962 in College Point, NY. He and Carol had two children, Austin Isherwood of Mahopac, NY and Audrey Howe of Wappingers Falls, NY. Austin and Carol enjoyed spending time in NY as well as their winter home in Jupiter, Florida.

Austin was best known for love his family, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, tennis (Jupiter gang), running (Road Runners Club) and his beloved NY Mets. He was tenacious, clever and very kind. He enjoyed walking the Pleasant Valley 6G Ranch and spending time in his hometown of College Point NY.

Austin is survived by his wife, Carol Isherwood, son Austin Isherwood and wife Beth Isherwood, daughter Audrey Howe and her husband Michael Howe, Austin and Beth's sons Jake and Ryan. Audrey and Michael's children Samantha, her husband Alex Siegeltuch, Michael, Jr. and his partner Emily Newhard, Christopher and Nicholas. Great grand children Mackenzie, Mark and Madisyn. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Isherwood and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews

Austin is preceded in death by his father Austin Isherwood, mother Alice Isherwood, and sister Virginia Rusch

A private service for Austin Isherwood will be held, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 12:30 PM at Ballad-Durand Funeral Home at 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532 immediately following will be burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
