Augustine Frank Trapasso, of White Plains, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on February 26, 2021 with his family by his side. Gus was born on October 5, 1924 in White Plains, NY to Frank and Maria Trapasso. He and his wife, the late Anna (Raffa), whom he met in 1955, were married in 1956 and they raised their family in White Plains. He is survived by his four children, Lorraine Verge, Dr. Joseph Trapasso, Geralyn Della Cava (Ralph), Paul Trapasso (Clarete), and grandchildren, Nicole (Tom), Michael, Jacqueline and Alexander. Gus, as many people called him, was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in White Plains, and remained active in the church for most of his life. He lived for his family and friends, and was an active volunteer in many organizations throughout his life. He was a White Plains volunteer fireman, a St. Agnes Hospital volunteer, a member of The Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy, The Moose Lodge, The North Broadway Neighborhood Association, and The Holy Name Society, and at 90 years of age was elected Yuengling Beer's Mr. Oktoberfest 2014. He served bravely in the US Army during WWII, and as a proud war veteran was certain to march as a reliable fixture in the annual White Plains Veteran's Day parade. He worked for the US Postal Service, and then retired to enjoy his family, friends, gardening and travel. Catholic funeral mass is to be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 92 S. Lexington Avenue in White Plains on Tuesday, March 2nd at 10:30 AM . Christian burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and sincere thank you to all of Gus's caregivers, especially Donah Del Pilar.
