Augustine Silvestro

Augustine David Silvestro, 75, of Cold Spring, NY, and formerly of Yonkers, NY passed away on November 21, 2024, after a very hard-fought courageous battle with a chronic illness, staying positive the whole way through. Born on October 2, 1949, to the late Michael and Luigia Silvestro, Augustine leaves behind a legacy filled with cherished memories of his wit, wisdom, and laughter that touched the lives of many. 

Augustine's journey began with humble beginnings as an immigrant to the United States from Andretta, Italy. Despite the many hard challenges, he faced, his determination and tireless work ethic enabled him to build a life that supported and nurtured his young family. He was once married to Lucia Bastone, with whom he shared two beloved children, Lisa Silvestro and Michael Silvestro. His family grew to include three treasured grandchildren: Scarlett, Jon, and Marcello, who brought immense joy to his later years. 

A man of varied passions, Augustine loved cars and mechanics, found comfort in the melodies of music, and delighted in the simple pleasures of a good cup of coffee and a classic Western. His presence brought light and strength to those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. 

While he may no longer be with us, we hold steadfast to the hope that we shall see him again. Augustine's legacy of resilience, love, and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
