Asha Leo

Asha Leo was called to the Lord on April 26, 2020 at the age of 42. She is survived by her husband Leo
Kannanganamalil, son Jeffrey, and daughter Kripa, as well as her father K.J. Baby and mother Alice Baby
of Kakkanattu House, Mekkadampu, Muvattupuzha, and her three sisters Dr. Neena Manesh, Dr. Renju
Robin, and Soniya Bineesh.
Asha was born in Ooramana, Kerala, India. After completing her primary education, she studied for her
BSN at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). After her graduation, she worked in AIIMS,
New Delhi and then left India to work in Kuwait. She met and married her husband Leo in 2003 while
working in Kuwait. They eventually moved and settled in the US in 2007 with their son, Jeffrey. They
later had their daughter, Kripa. Asha was working as a nurse at Blythedale Children's Hospital in
Valhalla, NY from the time she arrived in the US. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and
friend who remained deeply faithful in Christ until the very end. She was an active member of St. Mary's
Syrian Orthodox Church in West Nyack, NY, taking part in the choir and using her love of children to
teach Sunday School. She will always be remembered as a kind soul with a ready smile for everyone she
met. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
