Antonio Montez was born in Sao Joao da Ribeira, Portugal on January 9, 1937, and passed away on June 7, 2024, at the age of 87.
Antonio was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Olimpia and is survived by many people who adore him, his wife of 66 years, Aulindia, his son, Vasco (Arleny), his daughter Paula (John), two granddaughters and four great grandchildren.
Antonio, was trained in Lisbon, Portugal by some of the top men's tailors, where he specialized in men's apparel, specifically suits and shirts. Antonio was highly skilled. His expertise led to a work contract in the USA for a position as a senior tailor at Botany 500. Upon arrival in the USA, the textile industry was quickly shutting down in the USA and that resulted in textile jobs to move overseas. Antonio and his wife and young son and daughter settled in Yonkers, NY. Antonio was talented in many areas including warehouse supervision and finances. Antonio's motivation and passion to study, led him to learn plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and he quickly transitioned into a handyman position to manage 240 apartments in a residential building in Riverdale, NY where he last worked until retiring at age 65.
Antonio was an avid cyclist; enjoyed gardening, watching his soccer games, especially his team, Benfica. Antonio was a member of Benfica team since April 6, 1963 with current ambassador status.
