Antonina Puglisi

Antonina Puglisi of Hawthorne, New York passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, April 13, 2025; she was 86 years old. Antonina was born in Forza D'Agro, Sicily; daughter of the late Pietro Muscolino and Angela Lombardo. On September 6, 1958, in her village of Forza D'Agro, she married Anthony and came to the United States.

Antonina was a gracious and loving matriarch. Spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, brought her great happiness. She was an amazing cook and family meals were special gatherings filled with delicious food and fun times for all. Antonina also loved to sing and her beautiful voice graced the Immaculate Conception Church choir in Tuckahoe for over 25 years. During her youth in Italy, she was trained as a pattern maker and she proudly worked as a seamstress in the US for many years.

She enjoyed spending her retirement days travelling, gardening, playing cards and having many guests at the farm in Saugerties.

Along with her beloved husband of 66 years, Antonina is survived by her five children: Nicholas (Alison), Angela, Marie, Mela (Robert) and Peter. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Anthony (Hayley), Steven, Shane, Dylan (Carrie), Sasha, Christian, Robert (Kate) and Nicole.

Along with her loving parents, Antonina was predeceased by two sisters and six brothers.

Her Family will receive Friends on Tuesday, April 15th from 5-9PM at the HAWTHORNE FUNERAL HOME, 21 W. Steven Avenue, Hawthorne, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:30am, Wednesday, April 16th at Holy Rosary Church, 170 Bradhurst Avenue, Hawthorne, followed by interment to the Union Valley Cemetery, 731 Union Valley Road, Mahopac, New York.
