Antoinette (Toni) R. Gedney was born in White Plains, NY on June 13, 1928, and passed on April 6th, 2015 in Armonk, NY. She was the beloved daughter of her late parents Mayre (Hogan) Mahony Mains and Cornelius (Connie) Mains. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald "Don" Gedney. She lived most of her life in the White Plains and Armonk, NY area. She proudly received her degree in accounting/finance, and worked for many years at Malcom Pirnie Consulting in NY. Toni will be deeply missed by her loving cousins in Ireland, Mass, and many other states in the US and by her loving grandniece Tracie of Fla. Toni was cared for devotedly by her friend and caregiver Fermina, friend and driver Charlie W, friend Pat C., friends and neighbors Bob C. and Ann Marie S. Toni loved to converse and joke with Fermina and her husband Louis, and loved going to the casino and day trips with her friend Pat. Toni lover her Irish roots and family history. She loved Irish music at Donovan's pub, while living in Mass with her Aunt Peggy. She dearly loved her Aunts Peggy (Marguerite) Waage, and Catherine (Irene) Hogan, her parents, and her grandmother Mary (Grummel) Hogan. Toni organized the "Grummell" family reunion in Mass (family which had immigrated from Ireland and had grown in the US). Toni loved her two pet cats, she loved going to tag sales, meeting with friends and loved to tell the history and stories of her life and family. She and her husband loved going to the seashore and collecting clams in Montauk. She was a friend of the VFW in North Castle and attended their yearly barbecue. She will be remembered for her sharp mind, sense of humor, sparkling blue eyes, and her cheery "Hello" which she greeted friends and family when they called. She was very independent and lived her life her way. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Toni's memory to Green Chimneys of 400 Doansburg Rd, Brewster, NY to help children with disabilities, (845-279-2995). Funeral arrangements for Toni are through Ballard-Durand of White Plains on Friday April 24th at 8 to 10am, with celebration of mass at St. John the Evangelist Church in White Plains at 10am. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in White Plains.
