Anthony J. Vumbico, Sr. 94, of White Plains and formerly of Port St. Lucie, Fla and West Harrison, N.Y. died on August 30, 2013. He was born on Nov.11, 1918 to the late Giuseppe and Teresa (nee Caprifoglio) Vumbico in West Harrison, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Anthony worked for Continental Forrest Industries In Stamford, Conn. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Jean (nee Rappa) Vumbico in 1964 and by his two sisters, Concetta and Marion and his two best friends, Carl and Shirley Light. Anthony is survived by his two loving sons, Joseph Vumbico of Hyde Park, N.Y. and Anthony (Michele) Vumbico of New Windsor, N.Y. Also survived by his two cherished grandchildren, Marc and Marisa Vumbico and three great grandchildren. Also survived by his extended family, Dennis and Candy Light and Alison and Robert Walsh both of White Plains, N.Y. and Karen and Robert Lowman of Harrison, N.Y. and all their children. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday, 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady of Mt.Carmel Church, White Plains, N.Y. on Wednesday, 10 AM. Entombment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN. would be appreciated.
