Anthony J. Taranto

Anthony J. Taranto 83, of Valhalla, N.Y. died on Sept.14, 2015. He was born on Jan.26, 1932 to the late Giuseppe and Giovanina (nee Ferlazzo) Taranto in Brooklyn, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired self employed auto mechanic in Brooklyn, N.Y. Anthony is survived by his devoted wife, Rose (nee Spadaro) Taranto of Valhalla, N.Y. and by his loving children, Jeanette (Ralph) Jones of Mahopac, N.Y., Maria (Edward) Rohle of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. and Joseph Taranto of Valhalla, N.Y. also survived by his seven cherished grandchildren, Michael and Nicole Angelo, Christopher, Andrew and Joseph Rohle and Stephanie and Claudia Taranto. Predeceased by his two brothers, Felix and Joseph Taranto.
He was extremely respected and loved by all who knew him. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, (today) 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Thursday, 10 AM. Interment, Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to Maria Fareri Children's Hospital 1 Kids Corner Valhalla, N.Y. 10595 would be appreciated.
