Anthony ( Doc ) Martell

Anthony (Doc) Martell 83, of West Yarmouth, Mass. and formerly of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on Nov. 25, 2011. He was born on June 23, 1928 to the late Anthony and Bertha (nee Stryker) Martell in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Anthony worked for the Prudential Insurance Co. in Harrison, N.Y., was a former member of the Mt.Vernon Fire Dept. and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2578 in Hyannis, Mass. He is survived by his devoted wife Joan (nee Breen) Martell of West Yarmouth, Mass. his loving sons Michael (Elissa) Martell of Stormville, N.Y. and Robert (Deanna) Martell of Hawthorne, N.Y. Also survived by his four cherished grandchildren Robert, Jr., Jennifer, Michael (Sara) and Stephen Martell and by his several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his two sisters Augusta Garvey and Gloria Carlucci. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Thursday 11 AM.
