Anthony Gisondi, Jr. 80, most recently of Boynton Beach, Fla. and formerly of Thornwood and Valhalla, N.Y. died on July 3, 2012. He was born on Feb.23, 1932 to the late Anthony and Grace (nee Abasscia) Gisondi in White Plains, N.Y. He attended White Plains Public Schools. Anthony proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired self employed Painting Contractor in Westchester County. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary (nee Carlo) Gisondi of Boynton Beach, Fla. and by his loving sons, Tony (Karen) Gisondi of Hawthorne, N.Y. and David (Elizabeth) Gisondi of Delray Beach, Fla. five grandchildren; Tony (Tiffany) Gisondi of Clermont, Fla., Jill (Sean) Wolak of Randolph, N.J., Michael (Jessica) Gisondi of Harrison, N.Y. and Michelle and Gina Gisondi of Delray Beach, Fla. Also survived by his four great grandchildren. two brothers, Peter (Francis) Gisondi and Mauro (Jenny) Gisondi both of Harrison, N.Y. and one sister, Isabelle Garzia of Croton, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his three sisters, Julie Delfino, Antoinette (Nini) Sputo and Mary Libertella. He loved baseball and was an avid golfer and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Most of all he loved his family and friends. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Tuesday, 10 AM. Entombment, Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to Alzheimers Assoc. would be appreciated.
