Anthony John Esperito, Sr., a long time resident of Ossining, NY died on Ausust 17, 2012 at the Hudson Valley Hospital. He was 89. Mr Esperito was a General Contractor owning his own construction business "DAGA" and was a member of the Carpenters Union #11. Tony was born June 13, 1923 in Ossining to Leon and Madeline Del Penna Esperito. He was educated in Ossining graduating from Ossining high school in 1941 and attended training school in carpentry. He served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945 attaining the rank of Singleman 1st class. He belonged to the VFW, Elks and Moose all of Ossining. On December 16, 1945 he married Gilda Margaret Cretara at St. Ann's Church, Ossining. Mr Espserito will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to family, friends and community. He was one of the founding members of the Westchester Bridge Golf Sporting Club and erected the Ossining Community Nativity Creche each year. He is survived by his wife Gilda, children Donna Lee, Anthony and Maureen and her husband Chris De Paoli. Grandchildren Lara and Natasha De Paoli, sister in laws Eva Zimbalatti and her husband Pat and Mildred Cretara, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family members who died earlier include five brothers Joseph, Morris, Orlando, Victor and Leo and two sisters Mae Rudenstine and Susan Trathen. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532 on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass St. Ann's Church, Ossining on Friday at 10:30 am. Interment following at St. Augustine Cemetery.
