Anthony J. Ciaffa 91, of Valhalla, N.Y. and formerly of the Woodlawn section of Bronx, N.Y. died on September 24, 2009. He was born on March 6, 1918 to the late Dominick and Petrina (nee Cuti) Ciaffa in Bronx, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII from 1941-1945 in the 104th Calvary Horse Unit and Radio Operator in the European Arena. Anthony was a retired Traffic Mgr. with Allied International Air Parts Shipping in NYC. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Lucretia (nee Franchi) Ciaffa in 2006, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Anthony is survived by his cherished children; Anthony P. Ciaffa and his wife Deborah of LeMars, Iowa Christine Stephens and her husband Robert of Valhalla, N.Y. and Lucretia Shapiro and her husband Richard of White Plains, N.Y. 2 brothers Donald Ciaffa (Louise) of Franklin Lakes, N.J. and Philip Ciaffa (Carol) of Fairfield, Conn. Also survived by his 9 cherished grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. and Monday 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Tuesday 10 AM. Interment, Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, N.Y.
