Anne Reichling

November 13, 1937 — November 22, 2023

Mamaroneck, NY

Our dear Anne REICHLING, born in Mount Vernon, NY on November 13, 1937, a loving daughter, sister, and friend passed on from this world on November 22, 2023. She was 86 years of age.

Anne often recalled her childhood days growing up on Furman Avenue in the Bronx.
She and her older brother Arthur bought a home in New Rochelle/Scarsdale in the late 1980’s. She lived there until just over 3 years ago when she moved to The New Jewish Home/Sarah Neuman in Mamaroneck.

Anne worked for Con Edison in NYC for over 35 years, and made many friends there with whom she kept in touch with, and they with her.
She had a calm demeanor, a great sense of humor, and was delightful to be with.
Wherever she went she could always be counted on for her quick wit, and “let’s go” attitude.
She loved all genres of music, and dance, attending many concerts, plays, and events with her family, and friends.
Anne was fond of the ballet, and would often do her version of a plié to bring a laugh to her home care aides.

Anne was a highly intelligent woman who easily, and happily held many a conversation with any and all people she met. She loved reading history books, and biographies of people who made their mark on the world. She held a strong belief in the right of all people to be treated equally, and spoke often of the scourge of discrimination against any peoples for their origins or life choices.
Anne generously donated to needy causes of all kinds, especially, but not limited to, The Wounded Warrior Project, Save The Elephants, and many Catholic charities.

She is survived by the family she loved so well, her younger brother George Reichling Jr. of Montauk, NY, her nephew Joseph Reichling, his wife Sara and their daughter Ellery Jane.
Anne is also survived by her niece Jennifer Reichling, and by her devoted neighbors, and her loving caretakers.

She was predeceased by her parents George Sr., and Helen Reichling née Blondell, and her brother Arthur Reichling.

If you’re inspired to donate on behalf of Anne, please consider the New Rochelle Humane Society.
