Anne Ortolani

Anne Ortolani, 91, of Tarrytown, NY, died June 11, 2010 at her residence. Anne was born August 30, 1918 daughter of the late Rosario and Liboria Scarlato. She married Louis Ortolani in 1942. Anne worked in the garment district in New York for Dalma Studios. Fondly known as Auntie Anne or Annie she attended college at age 57 receiving her Bachelors Degree at age 77 from Pace University to a standing ovation. Annie loved to sew clothing and enjoyed gardening. Her family will miss her sunny disposition and penchant for inspirational proverbs. Everybody loved Annie. Her daughters Joan Charischak of White Plains, NY and Linda Matthews of Hopewell Junction, NY and a grandson, Douglas Matthews survive her as well as a sister Grace Castoro. Her beloved husband Louis died in 2001, and her sister, Phyllis Ganci died in 2009.
