Annabelle Addonizio

June 4, 1930 — October 17, 2024

Pleasantville, NY

Annabelle Addonizio, lovingly known as "Bella," passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, in Pleasantville, New York, at the age of 94, with her devoted family by her side. Born on June 4, 1930, in the Bronx, New York, Annabelle was the eldest of eight children of the late Nicholas and Claire (Cappiello) Briglia. She grew up in Mount Vernon, New York, where she met the love of her life, her husband, Dr. Joseph Carl Addonizio. The couple shared 35 wonderful years of marriage and raised six children. Throughout their life together, Annabelle and Joseph lived in several cities, including Mount Vernon, NY; Georgetown, Washington, D.C.; and San Antonio, TX, before settling in Chappaqua, NY. In recent years, Annabelle made Pleasantville her home.

Annabelle will be remembered for her kindness, humor, and generous heart. For decades, she volunteered at the American Cancer Society's Discovery Shop and Chappaqua Support Connection's Fantastic Finds, where her warm spirit uplifted those around her. Among her many fond memories was meeting President Bill Clinton during one of his visits to the shop.

Known for her radiant smile and boundless energy, Annabelle had a talent for making others feel at home. She was an avid walker, skilled seamstress, and exceptional cook, renowned for her legendary cinnamon rolls that filled the neighborhood air with their inviting aroma. Her love for music spanned generations, from Neil Diamond to Harry Styles, reflecting her youthful spirit.

A creative soul, Annabelle found beauty in life's smallest moments, from a picturesque sky to the delicate growth of her beloved Christmas cactuses. Her passion for poetry often led her to capture the beauty she observed in verse. A longtime member of the Chappaqua Garden Club, she also contributed her talents to the church's annual Christmas Bazaar, where her handcrafted angels became cherished keepsakes.

Annabelle's joyful presence extended to family celebrations, where she was always the last to leave the dance floor, keeping up with her children and grandchildren well into her 90s. She also loved traveling, including a memorable journey to meet the Pope with her husband, Joseph.

Annabelle is survived by her loving siblings, Donna (James) Ferrara and Nick (Joan) Briglia, and her six children: Maria (Michael) Seisdedos, Kathy (David) Halek, Susan (Scott) Diskin, Dawn (Gregg) Addonizio-Brown, Joseph (Lynn Anderson) Addonizio, and Gregory (Debra) Addonizio. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Ryan and Christopher (Lexi) Diskin; Remy, Cole, and Gray Addonizio; Gregory and Brianna Halek; Jessica (Ben) Regan; Joseph (Siobhan), Julia, and Joanna Addonizio; Michelle (Sean) Carnahan; Jennifer (Sean) Hewes; and Kimberly and Natalie Brown, ten great-grandchildren: George and Nora Regan; Jack, Lilly, Miles, and Reid Diskin; Finley Addonizio; Aiden and Aubrey Carnahan; and Annabelle Hewes, as well as many nieces and nephews.
