Ann C. Dixon, a longtime resident of West Harrison died peacefully at her daughter's home in Patterson on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. She was 92 years old and leaves behind a legacy of beautiful gardens. Ann was born on November 27, 1921 daughter of the late Gustav and Catherine Wistrand. Ann worked as a librarian for many years at Manhattanville College and was active for 50 years at the Memorial Community Church of West Harrison. She spent the last 4 years very happily at The Danish Home, an independent living facility in Croton on Hudson. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, George C. Dixon and her son John Dixon in 1998 and a brother John Wistrand. Ann's daughter, Carole Kalba of Patterson, NY survives her as well as grandchildren, Kristin Whitlow, Shaun Kalba, Cindy de St Phalle and Amy Dixon. Ann is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Parrish Whitlow, Sadie Whitlow, Henry Whitlow, Claire de St Phalle, Thomas Kalba, Margaret Kalba and her sister Frances Ferris and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains where a funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY on Saturday at 10 am. All are welcome.
