Angela Blake Fields passed away on March 17, 2024 at White Plains Hospital s. Angela was born May 17,1953 in the Bronx, New York to Helen Pinkney Blake and Edward Blake. She grew up in the Morrisania section of the borough. She attended Saint Angela Merici school and graduated from Saint Simon Stock High School. She received a bachelor's degree in 1974 from City College and went on to earn her master's degree from New York University. She interned for former Bronx Borough President Robert Abrams. Her first job was with the Community Service Society in New York City. Angela's last jo The Tri-State Regional Planning Commission and the New York State Division of Housing. Angela's last job was for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development as a Senior Project Developer, from where she retired in 2014.

In 1979 Angela married Everett W. Fields of White Plains, NY. They settled in The Bronx neighborhood of Marble Hill and lived on the 33rd floor of The Promenade a building that gave them a great view of The City of New York, which she loved so much. They later moved to Greenburgh NY where she resided until her recent death.

Angela and Everett had one child Sable Regina who passed away in August of 2021.

Angela was very involved in many community affairs: she was part of the committee that wrote a book The Town of Greenburgh, and as a talented aspiring writer participated in short story writing groups sponsored by many of the libraries in Westchester County. Three of her stories were published in anthologies featuring writers from the writing groups of The Bedford and Pound Ridge Library group led by Kim Kovach. She was part of a Knitting group that knitted blankets for charitable causes. As a breast cancer survivor she worked to raise money for the American Cancer Society to help stamp out the disease.

At 34 years old she was stricken with Sarcoidosis and later Pulmonary Hypertension. Despite these setbacks she continued to travel to her job in lower Manhattan to support her family and help send her daughter to college, often carrying three tanks of oxygen on Metro-North and the New York Subways. She loved crafts, her husband and most of all her precious daughter Sable.

Angela supported many causes throughout her life and hopes she made a contributions to help, eradicate Pulmonary Hypertension Association Donations in Angela's name can be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association: Donate - Pulmonary Hypertension Association (phassociation.org)

Besides her husband Everett Angela is survived by her cousin Mary O'Bannon-Abdullah and her husband Amir, her brother in law, Judge Joseph Greenaway, her nephew Joseph Greenaway III and his wife Dori, her niece Samantha Greenaway, sister-in law and brother-in law Margaret and Alvin Marshall, nephew Andrew Marshall, nieces Alison Davis and her husband Malcom, Erin Marshall and so many good friends and relatives who she touched during her life.

A viewing will be held 4pm to 8pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral home , (ballarddurand.com) in White Plains NY, on Tuesday March 26 from 4pm-8pm and a Funeral Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Church Valhalla ,NY on March 27 at 10 AM.
