Andrew Pometti, a long-time resident of North White Plains, died suddenly on November 24, 2004, at the age of 64. He was born in New York City on November 30, 1939 to Roberto and Pasqua (Santori) Pometti. Andrew retired as a NYC Police Captain in 1996 and was a 30+ year veteran of the NYPD. For more than three decades, he was an avid sailor and an active member of the Stuyvesant Yacht Club in City Island where he was Chairman of the Board and Director of Yard Operations.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted fiancée Maureen Raftery of Queens, two sons Robert of West Harrison, Andrew of Hartford, CT, a daughter Catherine Bontzolakes of Poughquag, a sister Vilma Pirraglia of North White Plains and a grandson, Alexander.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday and SundayNovember 27th and 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains. Mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus in Valhalla at 10 am on Monday November 30, 2004. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in Andrew's name can be made to the American Heart Association or the National Rifle Association (NRA).
