Allen S. Bell, 90, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and formerly of Elmsford, N.Y. Died on Oct. 3, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. He was born on September 17, 1920 to the late Allen and Marie (nee Brunner) Bell in Albany, N.Y. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a surviver of Pearl Harbor. Al was a Life member of Live Oak Engine Company Number 1, Former Chief and Department Mechanic of the Elmsford Fire Department. He was a retired mechanic for Fairview Exxon, in Elmsford, NY. Mr. Bell is predeceased by his wife Daisy (nee Turner) in 1986. He is survived by his two daughters Alice Minnerly of Poughkeepsie, NY and Marie DeNardo of Hawthorne, NY., Five Grandsons and twelve Great Grandchildren. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday 9 AM thru 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Elmsford, NY Wednesday 11 AM.
