Alice L. Marxreiter of Briarcliff Manor, NY died on January 17, 2010 at her residence. She was 84. Alice was born In Hudson, NY on October 1, 1925 to Rossman D. and Florence M. Hedges Leach. She was a graduate of Pleasantville High School, Middlebury College and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She had worked for advertising companies in New York City and Time Magazine before leaving to raise her family. In 1950 she married Max Marxreiter and first lived in New York City, then Ossining and Briarcliff Manor. Mrs Marxreiter was an active, long time member of the Briarcliff Congregational Church and an active member of the Briarcliff Manor-Scarborough Historical Society serving as Treasurer. As a long time member of Sleepy Hollow Country Cub, she very much enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She is survived by 2 sons Ronald and Robert, 1 Daughter Amy Courtney, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her husband, Max died August 8, 2003. Visitation will be at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne. NY 10532 on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm. Fureral Services will be Held at the Briardiff Congregational Church, 46 S. State Road, Briatdiff Manor on Thursday at 10 am. Interment will follow at the Copake Cemetery, Copake, NY. Memorial Contributions can be made In her memory to the Briarcliff Congregational Church.
