Alfred G. Holer, Jr

Alfred G. Holer, Jr. 85, of White Plains, N.Y. died on October 25, 2009 at White Plains Hospital Center. He was born on August 19, 1924 to the late Alfred and Mary Ellen (nee Nolan) Holer, Sr. in West Hartford, CT. Alfred was educated at Northfield Mt. Herman Prep School and attended University of Connecticut. He served in the US Army Air Core as a Sergeant during WWII. He married Frances Fanelli on April 11, 1953. Al worked in the printing and stationary industry his whole career including being the founding partner of Brecht & Holer, Inc. in NYC. He retired in December 1990. Al was an avid photographer and active member of the Westchester Photographic Society. Alfred is survived by his devoted wife Frances Holer of White Plains, N.Y. His sister Doris, of Manchester, Conn.. his loving children; April and her husband Joe Paresi of Armonk, N.Y. and Alfred III and his wife Mattie of Brea, Calif. Also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Shannon and Alfred G. Holer IV, and wife Lynnsay, as well as TJ, Stephen and Kristin Paresi and great grandchildren Gelynn, Kayla and Alfred G. Holer V. Alfred will be remembered as a kind friendly person who could always be found around the soccer field taking pictures of his Grandchildren. Al was a wonderful loving husband and supportive father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by anyone who knew him. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Tuesday (today) 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Wednesday 9:30 AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center, NYC or American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
