Alexander E Chapro

Alexander E. Chapro died peacefully on August 15, 2011 at the age of 78. Beloved son of Tamara and Myron T. Chapro, adored brother of Dr. Natasha Josefowitz, cherished husband of Susan (Ullman), devoted father of Andrew and his wife, Karen, Anne Daniel and her husband, Sohiel. He was also the proud and loving grandfather of Danielle and Tamara Chapro, Alexis and Matthew Daniel. He was a member of the New York Stock Exchange and served as a Governor of the Exchange. He retired in 1999. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester, 2125 Westchester Avenue, Rye, New York at 10 am. The family will receive friends at their home following the service on Wednesday and also on Thursday from 7pm. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in his memory may be made to New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, 301 East 17th Street, New York, New York 10003. He was a giant among men.
