Albert J. O'Brien

Albert J. O'Brien 82, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on Sept. 6, 2011 at his residence after a long and difficult illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 9, 1929 to the late George and Bridget (nee Murray) O'Brien in Yonkers, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Al worked for Refined Sugar in Yonkers, N.Y. as a power house operator. He was a long time and active member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne, N.Y. Al is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife Patricia (nee Burkhardt) O'Brien of Hawthorne, N.Y. his loving children; Michael O'Brien of Hawthorne, N.Y., Christine (James) Iacovello of Pleasantville, N.Y., Cathy O'Brien of Dublin, Calif. and Tricia (Frank) Chibbaro of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. two brothers Richard (Dorothy) O'Brien of Manchester, NJ and James (Mary) O'Brien of Utah. Also survived by his seven cherished grandchildren; Nicholas and Alyssa Iacovello, Jeremy and Bryn Crisfield and Emma, Ava and Ella Chibbaro. Predeceased by his daughter Carleen O'Brien Torre in 1987, one sister and six brothers. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday (today) 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Friday 10 AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to a COPD Foundation or the Lymphoma Society would be appreciated.
