Addie Sarvis, a resident of Yonkers and formerly of the Bronx, died on August 23, 2011. She was 82.
Ms. Sarvis was born on February 14, 1929 in Conway, South Carolina to the late Thurmond and Tiny (Jones) Steele. She is survived by her husband Fred Mack; her daughters, Joyce Spillers, Peggy Sarvis, Sandra Sarvis, and Lois Sanders; six grandchildren, Monique, Davida, Rasonn, Demetrius, Jabari, and Mariama; five great-grandchildren, Samaya, Layla, Jelani, Demarcus, and Jasmine; a sister, Frances; and a brother, James. She is pre-deceased by her husband George Sarvis, son Gene Sarvis, daughter Jackie Alston and brothers William Steele, Edward Steele, Johnny Steele, Norwood Steele, Jessie Steele, Levi Steele and Gene Steele.
Visiting will be Monday from 10am to 12pm at allard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains. Interment will follow at White Plains Rural Cemetery.
