ROBERTO LEBRON, ESQ., a long term resident of Greenburgh (White Plains, New York) passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020. He was born in New York City (El Barrio) on September 29, 1930. He is survived by his wife, Carmen, and by his two sons, Roberto Gabriel, an Assistant Attorney General, and Roberto Esteban, Senior Director of Communications for the American Museum of Natural History; by his daughter-in-law, Marisa Lebron, and by three granddaughters, Gabriela Lebron, Sofia Lebron and Olivia Lebron; and his brother Galo Lebron. He was predeceased by his brother, Ramon Julian, late of Bronx, New York, and by his sister, Maria Felipa Olson, late of Palmdale, California.

He was inducted into the United States Army on October 3, 1951. He was a graduate of the Infantry Leadership School, Fort Dix, New Jersey, and served with the Second Infantry, Ninth Division Regiment in the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged from active service on July 3, 1953 with the grade of Staff Sergeant.

He was a graduate of New York Law School and received his LLB in 1957; his Juris Dr. in 1968. He was admitted to practice in the First Judicial Department, in March, 1958. He was admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts in 1959, the U.S. Supreme Court in 1966, the U.S. Court of International Trade in 1971, the Court of Appeals, Second Circuit (New York) in 1990, the U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit (Boston) in 1993, and the U.S. Judicial District of Puerto Rico in 1994. He served as a U.S. Administrative Law Judge from 2006 to 2014, both in San Juan, Puerto Rico and White Plains, New York.

He was a Past President of the Puerto Rican Bar Association of New York (1963-1965), and its Counsel from 1988 to 1995. He served in the New York City Council, as the first member of Puerto Rican descent to represent Bronx County. He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (New York City Chapter) in 1966. He was a member of the American Arbitration Association's National Panel. He was a Sub-Committee Chairman of the Bronx County Bar Association's Grievance Committee, and a member of the Bronx County Bar Association's Board of Directors. He was a Panel Chairman of the Compulsory Arbitration Service for the First Judicial Department.

He was a Co-Founder, President, and General Counsel to the Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a member and Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Westchester Arts Council. He was an advisor and consultant on Hispanic Affairs to the Westchester County Advisory Board.

He was the Producer, Director and Moderator of "Conozca Sus Derechos" (Know Your Rights), a Spanish-language legal panel orientation program on radio station WADO in New York.

In 1993, he published "A Report to the Westchester County Hispanic Advisory and to the Westchester County Executive on Hispanics in Westchester County Government Board."
