Richard Rivera age 87, of Hartsdale, New York, passed away on August 31, 2020 in White Plains, New York.
Visitations will be held on Friday, September 4th, 2020 between 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains, New York.
Funeral service will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York. Arrangements are by Ballard-Durand Funeral Home.
Richard Rivera was born in Manhattan, New York to Frank and Maria Rivera on June 2, 1933. He attended Samuel Gompers High School where he studied various trades. He married Inez Ramirez on October 11, 1952 in Bronx, New York and was married for 38 years until her death in 1990. On August 24, 1991 he married Mercedes Rodriguez and they were married for 29 years until his death.
Richard Rivera was a hard working, self-made entrepreneur in the sewing machine attachment industry and was also a real estate broker. He was a man of deep faith, was committed to helping others and was an active member of his church. He was devoted to and loved his family above all else.
Richard Rivera is survived by: his wife, Mercedes Rivera, his daughters Inez, Ruth, Melissa and son-in-law Greg and his grandchildren Ian and his wife Kate, Inez, Justin, Johnny, Dylan and his great granddaughter, Lily. He is also survived by his brother, Anthony, his sister-in-law, Marie and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be given to White Plains Hospital PalliativeMedicine/Hospice Program or World Vision International.
