Mrs. Mary Lou Haynes daughter of the late Victor Louis Johnson and Ruth Mae Hester-Johnson was born March 5, 1934, in Person County, Roxboro, North Carolina. At an early age, she joined Hester's Grove Baptist Church in Hurdle Mills, North Carolina.

Her accomplishments started with graduating Person County High School in Roxboro, North Carolina in 1955. She later decided to travel with her girlfriend to Long Island, New York where she was employed as a domestic worker until moving to White Plains, New York in 1957. She transitioned into Home Health Services and worked for Personal Touch of White Plains.

She met Raymond R. Haynes and they later married and from this union they had one daughter, Debra Ann Haynes.

She was one of nine brothers and sisters. She was proceeded in death by 5 siblings Mildred (Sadie) Johnson, Louise Johnson, Bessie (Jack) Thomas , Roselen Lunsford, and Carlton (Jake) Johnson. She is survived by 1 daughter, Debra Ann Haynes; 1 one sister, Mrs. Katie Cates of Roxboro, North Carolina; two brothers , Victor Johnson Jr. (Linelle), Hugh Thomas (Mack) Johnson (Gertrude); special family "for those who knew her as Aunt Pete" and friends, Margaret Jones , Robert Lee Johnson (Aljean), Faye Turner, Jennifer Cates, Sandra Cates, Jennie Pickney, Pinice Whiting Maggie Jones, Earl R. Haynes Jr., Marshal Jones, Gerald Jones, Alison Jones and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
