Dr. Howard Essner

Dr. Howard Essner, passed on Saturday, December 21, 2019 with his beloved wife Susan in his arms. Predeceased by his first wife Marian and beloved sister Phyllis, a devoted father to Mitchell, stepfather of Gary, Missy, Jeffrey (Lisa), adored grandfather of Ariela, Dean, Jacob, Candace, Sarah, Jordan, Miranda, Eden, Riley and Daisy. For 45 years, Dr. Essner "Howie" practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in White Plains, NY. He delivered 10,000 babies and treated the women who were his patients as if they were family. Born to Jean and Herman Essner in Brooklyn, NY he graduated Syracuse University then Medical School in Geneva, Switzerland. "Howie" was a Francophile who loved travel, wine, and learning about foreign lands and cultures. He truly was a renaissance man keenly interested in technology, politics, finance and The New York Giants. Countless friends and family will miss the steady judgement and advice he so generously offered everyone he met. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 23rd at Sharon Gardens in Valhalla, NY followed by Shiva at the home of Susan Essner in Saddle River, NJ on Tuesday the 24th and Wednesday the 25th.
