He would find employment with TSS Department Store in Brooklyn NY at the time. He would work there for several years when in 1984 he joined Montefiore Medical Center/Einstein Division, Bronx, NY where he would work for the next 32 years, working his way up to supervisor. Tojo was always a cool guy with no pretensions. Always transparent. Always seemed accepting of the hand he was dealt. So much we can learn from him.
WE THOUGHT OF YOU TODAY
We thought of you with love today.
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.

As I reflect on the halcyon times we spent as teenagers (you, me, Michael and Andrew) at Cove and John in the police compound, I give thanks for the opportunity of knowing you. The four of us were all born in the same year separated by months. Your passing has a significant effect on me as I think of my own mortality. It gives me pause. I take this opportunity to extend on behalf of the Saunders family, our sincerest condolences to your wife, children, grandchildren and all of your loved ones. It was a pleasure knowing you, my friend. Until we meet again.
From your eldest brother. The end has come in this world, at 68 plus, my brother. We will meet when my end comes, until then, lots of blessings and may your soul rest in peace.
You were my whispering buddy Tojo, and I will miss you so much with your words of wisdom. You are now in the comforting arms your father. Rest In Peace my dear, and I will forever miss you.
From your eldest sister June, will be looking over you.
