Helarion Cleveden Bacchus better known as Tojo was born on October 21, 1950 in Paradise East Coast Demerara, Guyana South America to Mother Amelia Bacchus and Father Clarence Kenneth Bacchus. He was the last surviving child of his Parents subsequently after four of his siblings passed away young in childhood before he was born.
In 1961 at a young age of eleven Tojo lost his Father suddenly and now had to begin his journey into manhood at a young age, but was supported during that time by his Father's Twin Brother Bryant Bacchus while living with his Mother Amelia Bacchus. During this time he would spend a great deal of his time with his Uncle Bryant's children. They would all grow together like Brothers and Sisters.
Tojo attended Golden Grove Secondary School, where he would graduate at the age of eighteen years old. Tojo would follow in his Father's and Uncle's footsteps and join the Police Force for eight years when in 1976 he migrated to the United States.
He would find employment with TSS Department Store in Brooklyn NY at the time. He would work there for several years when in 1984 he joined Montefiore Medical Center/Einstein Division, Bronx, NY where he would work for the next 32 years, working his way up to supervisor. He would always travel back and forth home to his roots in Guyana, he loved going home and staying close to his fellow country men to see how he could help them in anyway.
Tojo is survived by his wife Michaelle his son Eric Cleveden Bacchus, Stepson Michael Williams, stepdaughter Maureen Criscitelli, daughters-in-law Melanie Bacchus, Barbara Williams and son-in-law Tim Criscitelli and his grandchildren Kierra, Rommel, Alex, Dean, Amelia, Cameron, Sophia and Amayah as well as
his first cousins (who are more like siblings), Mervyn Bacchus, Michael Bacchus, Albert Bacchus, June Bacchus, Orin Bacchus, Simone Bacchus and Winston Bacchus.
Tojo was a uncle to many but some of his notable nephews and nieces include Carlos Bacchus, Carl Bacchus, Lionel Bacchus, Cindy Bacchus, Cleon Bacchus, Mark Bacchus, Dacia Bacchus, Andre Bacchus, Deanna Bacchus, Matthew Bacchus and Rolston Agard.
Some Notable cousins Godfrey Grandison, Patrick Grandison, Terrence Grandison, Nigel Grandison, Beverly Grandison, Pam Cranmore, Carmen Lyte.
Tojo Knew many people near and far all over the world and he made his presence known when he walked through your door and when he left. His voice will be remembered and will resonate in your ears for many years to come.
We would like to thank you all for being apart of his life and he knows you as you knew him. Tojo showed stength and love right up untill his last days.

Tojo was always a cool guy with no pretensions. Always transparent. Always seemed accepting of the hand he was dealt. So much we can learn from him.

My sincere condolances and heartfelt sympathy to the Bacchus Family. From Cove & John police compound to Golden Grove secondary school, police out rider/escort, that is not all. What about the tantalising, the jokes and laughter. I know those buddies of yours who are in grief and total disbelief. Sleep on Tojo have your peaceful rest. God only choose the best.

As I reflect on the halcyon times we spent as teenagers (you, me, Michael and Andrew) at Cove and John in the police compound, I give thanks for the opportunity of knowing you. The four of us were all born in the same year separated by months. Your passing has a significant effect on me as I think of my own mortality. It gives me pause. I take this opportunity to extend on behalf of the Saunders family, our sincerest condolences to your wife, children, grandchildren and all of your loved ones. It was a pleasure knowing you, my friend. Until we meet again.
